Peru Tinka-also sometimes called La Tinka-is the most popular lotto game in Peru and has some of the biggest jackpots in the country.

With simple, familiar gameplay and good jackpot odds, it’s easy to see how it has become such a popular lottery both nationally and internationally.

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the game and show how you can buy Peru Tinka tickets online.

About Peru Tinka

Launched on October 16, 1994, Peru Tinka is operated by Intralot de Peru SA, the country’s top lotto and sports-betting provider.

It is supervised by the Ministerio de la Mujer y Desarrollo Social, with proceeds from all games of chance going to charitable and social causes.

In the more than 25 years since the game began, the format has never changed, which just goes to show how popular it is.

Peru Tinka Draws

Peru Tinka has bi-weekly draws that are held every Wednesday and Sunday at 9:30 pm PET.

The draws take place at Intralot’s headquarters in Lima and are broadcast on television, radio, and the internet after the draw.

A total of seven balls are randomly selected: six main balls and one bonus ball, called the Boliyapa.

Peru Tinka LogoHow to Play Peru Tinka

To play Peru Tinka, individuals must select six numbers and the Boliyapa bonus number from a main ball pool consisting of numbers 1 through 45.

To win the jackpot, a player must match all of the six main numbers.

The Boliyapa ball only applies to lower-tier prizes. Specifically, it applies to the second, fourth, sixth and eighth tiers.

One entry costs PEN$4 when purchased within Peru and consists of six numbers.

Players can also choose to select more than six numbers on one ticket, which is called a system play.

However, the more numbers a player chooses, the more expensive the ticket.

For example, a seven-number system costs PEN$28, a nine-number system costs PEN$336 and the largest system a player can purchase for Peru Tinka is 13 numbers, which costs PEN$6,864.

System play helps increase the odds of winning, as more numbers means more chances to win.

Peru Tinka Prizes and Odds

Peru Tinka has a minimum jackpot of PEN$1.5 million.

If there are no winners for a draw, the jackpot rolls over to the following draw. The prize will continue to roll over until there is a winner, as there is no rollover cap and no jackpot cap.

There are eight prize tiers in total.

One of the features that make Peru Tinka so popular is the good jackpot odds, with each entry giving players a 1 in 8,145,060 chance of winning the top prize.

These are some of the best odds in the world, especially for a lotto game of this size.

Players also have good overall odds of 1 in 13 of winning any prize.

The odds per prize tier and the estimated winnings per tier are as follows:

Notable Peru Tinka Winners

Peru Tinka has had some pretty impressive jackpots in its history.

The largest jackpot win happened on July 29, 2018, with a lucky winner walking away with PEN$21.3 million.

However, perhaps the most notable jackpot win happened in November 2018, when a PEN$12 million jackpot went unclaimed.

After 180 days, the winner never came forward, and the prize went to the charitable causes and programs that the lotto supports.

Peru Tinka-Should You Play?

There are many things that make Peru Tinka an attractive lotto game to try.

Entries are pretty cheap, jackpot odds are good, and the lack of jackpot and rollover caps means that the top prize can grow to substantial amounts.

However, the impressive odds also mean that the jackpots rarely grow as large as many of the more popular games like US Powerball and EuroMillions.

All things considered, we think Peru Tinka is a great lottery game that both new and experience winners will enjoy.
